The November 3rd, 2008 general election significantly funded bond measures for the Los Angeles Community College District and the Los Angeles Unified School District
Measure J is $3.5 billion bond for Los Angeles Community College District projects; the money will provide for crucial improvements and bolster job training. The bond will fund construction of new buildings and repairs of old ones. It will also go toward upgrading technology in classrooms across the district's nine campuses.
Los Angeles Community College District does more job training in the L.A. area than any other group or organization. Measure J will allow LACCD to improve facilities on campuses, and also provide training in this economic environment.
Similarly, Measure Q represents a stable long-term funding stream for a $7 billion construction and modernization program of Los Angeles Unified School District. |
